Sophomore Photography
Sophomore photography is busting.

Rule of Thirds
Leaf with water droplets in the sunlight. Rather than putting the leaf in the center, I put the leaf on the left third to make it more interesting. I added some water droplets for fun.

Line
Pen drawing a line on paper. I figured what is a better way to show lines than drawing a line on some more lines. I added the magenta light and the pen at the end of the line to give the viewer more to look at.

Shape
Tree in circle and it's shadow from the sunlight. When thinking about what to do for this photo, I figured the shape and its shadow would look cool together and provide more, well, shapes. I found some sunlight and placed this against the window, and then I had a photo.

Form
A beautiful monochromatic photo of a peach on a marble countertop. I used a black and white filter on a peach to make it look like it was 3D-ish. I placed it on top of the marble part of the countertop to make it look like the cracks were sprawling out from under the peach, which made the photo a little more interesting.

Space
A finger person walking on a purple hill. For this photo, I just cut out little red paper shoes and stuck them on my fingers. I made sure to place my finger person on the side of the photo to have space in front of it. This made it look like it was walking.

Texture
Soap suds in the sunlight with red and blue food coloring. I shook up some soapy water in a container, scooped the suds out and into a glass bowl, and dropped some food coloring on it to get this photo. The suds are the texture.

Symmetry
My dad's wedding ring creating a slim, symmetrical heart on a book. I used the book "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul" in the sunlight, placed my dad's wedding ring in the middle and got this heart in the middle.

Primary Colors
I put some jars of red, yellow and blue water in front of the sunlight from a window and got this. I really like the crystal-like light reflected onto the floor.

Spooky Photo
I had some fake blood on hand, so I did this. So spooky.

Complementary Colors
This little guy was just sitting on my desk, so I decided to give him a photoshoot. The orange and blue colors really compliment each other. Photos turned out great. 10/10.

Still Life
I liked the idea of having food in the picture so I used cookies and tea. I added the journal to make it look like a little writing session. I like that all of the objects go together and the palette is warm.

Analogous Color
This was a photo from a while ago, but it had analogous colors (red, orange, and yellow) so I used it. The sunlight shining on the flower makes the photo ten times better.

Fall Photo
This tree was outside my house, and it had a very pretty red hue, so it was perfect for a fall photo. Again the sunlight looks amazing and makes the photo look better. As you can tell, I love photos that involve sunlight.

Extra
This is an extra photo I turned in for extra credit. I took this the same day as my spooky photo, but I decided to use the bloody hand instead. I still thought this was cool, so I wanted to include it.

Black and White
I found this rose in a cup in my kitchen and thought "If I put this on the ground outside, it would look cool in black and white" . . . so that's what I did.

Holiday
What says “Holiday” more than a Christmas tree? For this photo, I turned off all of the lights in the room and made sure that the tree was in the center. Turning off the lights caused the tree to give off this soft light all around it, and it looked really pretty. It kind of looks like the light was painted on like water color paints.

Frame Within a Frame
In this photo, the frame around the subject is a piece of paper I rolled into a little telescope-like shape. The photo kind of looks like an eye, with the flower as the pupil and the iris. Of course, the sunlight makes the flower look 10x better.

Portrait
I was too shy to take a portrait showing my full face, so I thought my eye would suffice. I mean, you have to admit, my eye looks pretty good when I’m staring directly at the sun.

Creative Photo
I wanted to do something with smoke for this photo, so I grabbed the candle on my dining room table, lit the wick, and put the lid on it. I waited for the smoke to fill the space and opened the lid, creating this pretty smoke effect.

Creative Photo 2
I decided to do something with shadows. I turned off all of my living room lights, grabbed a fake rose and a powerful flashlight, and had my mom be the hand giving the rose and my sister be the hand that goes to grab the rose. I really like that the shadows aren’t defined because it gives them a cool blur effect, but not so much where you can’t tell what they are.

Wear and Tear
I was at a friend's house when I saw these old books, and I knew I should use them. I got some good, colorful lighting, put the books on the ground and tried different angles until I got this shot. I love the lighting in this photo.

Golden Hour
This one is pretty basic. I just found some light, picked a flower, and put it in a glass. I could have taken a better picture, but I was a bit behind on photography assignments.

Golden Hour (Extra)
I included this extra photo because I thought it was really beautiful. It doesn’t just have golden hues, but also pink, orange, and purple.

Famous Photo
I attempted to recreate Sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh, and I think it turned out pretty good. I was able to recreate the yellow background and yellow flowers, but I only had one vase in my house and it was red.

Macro/Close-up
I took pictures of multiple things before this photo, trying to take the perfect macro photo, but then I saw these little guys on a ledge in my patio and knew these would make the perfect photo. I waited for the sunlight to be good and tried a few different angles and positions before I settled on this photo. I really like how everything is blurred when it's closer to the camera and becomes more in focus the farther you get.
